This is an amazing place and amazing food.Posted onVerified Good for groups (Lip reading an advantage !) I recently visited The Greek Table twice within a month and wanted to share some observations. The food quality and entertainment were consistently very good, and the venue works well for larger groups. However, I would avoid visiting as a couple on a Friday due to the noise level. There are a few areas that could be improved: 1. Volume of Music: At the start of the evening, the music is excessively loud, making conversation difficult. It would be better to keep the volume lower during dining and increase it later when the dancing and plate smashing begin. 2. Plate Smashing Experience: During my first visit, each person received a plate to smash. On the second visit, our group of seven was given only one plate to share. 3. Portion Control: The portion sizes for dips and bulgur wheat were identical on both visits, despite one visit having five guests and the other seven. 4. Missing Dishes: On the first visit, we were served stuffed vine leaves and Greek sausage. These items were absent during the second visit, and no alternative dishes were offered. 5. Inconsistent Sharing Portions: The triangular feta parcels were also inconsistent—three parcels for seven people on the second visit compared to two parcels for five people previously. It would be better to serve individual portions or adjust quantity based on group size (e.g., three for five guests, four for eight). Overall, I would return, and I believe the optimal group size is around four people, ensuring more balanced and sufficient portions.Posted onVerified The best restaurant in Newbury I’ve been to this place many times and I can’t fault it. Not only did they take our past complaint seriously, but they went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and attentive from the moment we walked in. The food was outstanding—huge portions, full of flavour, and so much choice on the menu that it was hard to decide! The atmosphere truly makes you feel like you're dining in Greece, with a warm, authentic vibe that feels like a little escape abroad. We left full, happy, and very impressed. The energy was incredible from start to finish — live music, dancing, smashing plates, and napkins flying everywhere! The atmosphere felt like a full-on party in Greece, the food was amazing (especially the mezze and grilled meats), and the staff made sure everyone was having a great time. If you’re looking for somewhere lively and totally unforgettable, this is the place to go. Can’t wait to come back!
